Universal Type Inductive Proximity Sensor
Universal Type Inductive Proximity Sensor
Product details
In all automation processes, sensors are a prerequisite for transmitting information to PLCs. They transmit necessary signals about position, or serve as pulse generators for counting tasks or for detecting rotational speed. Inductive and capacitive sensors are essential in today's industrial applications. Compared with mechanical proximity switches, inductive sensors have perfect prerequisites: a contactless and wear-resistant working mode, as well as high switching frequency and switching accuracy. In addition, they are resistant to vibration, dust, and moisture. Inductive sensors can detect all metals without contact.
Working principle
Inductive proximity switch is a type of position sensor with switch output, which utilizes the physical effects caused by changes in an oscillating circuit generated by eddy current losses in the conductive material. An LC oscillation circuit generates a high-frequency electromagnetic field, which is radiated from the sensing surface of the sensor. An object with electrical conductivity enters the field, forming an eddy current according to the law of induction. This eddy current eliminates the energy of the oscillating circuit, resulting in a decrease in amplitude. This change is converted into a switch signal, and according to this working principle, all metals can be detected regardless of their motion or stillness.
