Thread template: A standard component used as a thread standard to measure similar threads, with a determined pitch and tooth shape, and meeting accuracy requirements. It is called a thread template, also known as a pitch gauge or thread gauge, and can be used in metric, imperial, American, metric trapezoid, American trapezoid, etc.

1. The plug ring gauge is mainly used for checking the pitch and profile angle of low precision threaded workpieces. The working surfaces of the thread template should not have rust, scratches, burrs, or other defects that affect the quality of use or appearance. The connection between the template and the protective plate should enable the template to rotate smoothly around the axis without getting stuck or loose.

2. When measuring the thread pitch, use the tooth shaped steel plate in the thread template group as a template and clamp it on the measured threaded workpiece. If it does not fit tightly, replace it with another plate until it fits tightly. At this point, the dimension recorded on the thread template is the thread pitch of the measured threaded workpiece. The length of the threaded working part should be utilized as much as possible to clamp the thread template onto the thread profile, so that the measurement results are more accurate.

3. When measuring the tooth profile angle, place a thread template with the same pitch as the measured thread workpiece against the measured thread, and then check their contact. If there is uneven clearance and light transmission, it indicates that the tooth profile of the measured thread is inaccurate. This measurement method can only roughly determine the approximate situation of tooth profile angle error.
