The non-standard taper plug ring gauge is a key inspection tool in the machining process of machine tool spindles. With the further improvement of machine tool performance, accuracy, and speed, high requirements have been put forward for the manufacturing of non-standard taper plug ring gauges. At the same time, high dimensional and positional tolerance accuracy requirements have been put forward for the grinding of non-standard taper plug ring gauges.
First, there needs to be a plug gauge, which is a standard outer cone. Apply 2-4 lines of red lead or blue oil evenly on the plug gauge, then insert the plug gauge into the inner cone hole, rotate it 60-120 degrees, and pull out the plug gauge. Check the wiping marks on the surface of the plug gauge to judge the quality of the inner cone. The more contact area there is, the better the cone, and vice versa. Generally, a standard gauge is used to check the taper contact, which should be above 75% and close to the big end.
Non standard taper plug ring gauge
The non-standard taper plug ring gauge can be measured using a taper micrometer or using a triangulation method, but when working on site, the principle of using a taper gauge for inspection is similar to using a caliper. In addition, there is a Mohs taper gauge specifically designed for detecting Mohs taper. Its principle is to measure the difference in diameter between the front and rear of the anvil seat, and the length difference is displayed on the indicator gauge, which is then converted into a conversion table to obtain the size of the taper.
Non standard taper plug ring gauges are mostly used for checking the taper of machine tool and precision instrument spindles and holes.
When using a cone check plug gauge or a cone working plug gauge to check the diameter of the Mohs taper plug ring gauge, the large end face of the cone working ring gauge should coincide with the front edge marked on the D plane ruler of the large end diameter of the check plug gauge, with a difference of no more than 0.1z allowed. When the end face marks the rear edge of the D-plane ruler with the large diameter of the plug gauge, it is considered that the conical working ring gauge has reached wear.
