1、 Introduction: The magnetic powder dynamometer and its testing system consist of a magnetic powder dynamometer, dynamometer controller, electrical parameter measuring instrument and acquisition device, test power supply, operation console and electrical cabinet, dynamometer stand/fixture and accessories, computer and dedicated testing software. It can arbitrarily change the load of the tested motor, directly measure the input voltage, current, power and output torque, speed, output power and efficiency of the motor under no-load, load and locked rotor states
2、 Main features of the system (the following functions need to be reasonably selected due to different user configurations)
1. Sampling time
2. Range and number of teeth setting: Users set the corresponding torque range and speed of the dynamometer according to the number of teeth on the gear plate or photoelectric encoder.
3. Hub function (station number selection): When configuring multiple (≥ 2) dynamometers, users can choose the VG2218C-JXQ type 8-way hub, which can be operated by computer software or VG2218C to select the specified dynamometer (or station). The hub automatically switches the corresponding signal, avoiding operational errors and safety caused by frequent plugging and unplugging of signal ports during dynamometer station replacement.
4. Automatic calibration and calibration function: In addition to retaining manual calibration (including positive full-scale, negative full-scale, and zero adjustment) functions, users can automatically achieve the entire process of dynamometer calibration on the computer. The calibration process is clear, and calibration data can be stored on the computer. Calibration data tables can be automatically generated and printed out.
5. Durability function: According to the requirements of the tested motor, the number of cycles, duration of each time period, load size (including no-load, light load, rated load, overload, locked rotor, stop, etc.), and durability conditions such as forward/reverse rotation can be set arbitrarily, and the set durability curve and the actual operating durability curve can be automatically displayed.
6. Load modes of dynamometer: excitation mode, constant torque mode, constant speed mode, constant current mode; The PID function ensures fast dynamic response and more stable operation of the load.
7. Synchronous sampling of motor operation input and output parameters: input voltage, current, power, power factor, frequency and output torque, speed, input power, efficiency. Having synchronous sampling during measurement ensures data consistency.
8. T-n characteristic testing function: For asynchronous motors, T-n characteristic testing is of great significance. On the T-n curve, the maximum and minimum torque of the motor can be tested.
9. Production line testing function: With the continuous improvement of customer quality control of motors, in addition to measuring and controlling traditional motor input parameters, the factory has specially added measurement and control of motor output parameters (torque, speed, output power, efficiency). Under forward and reverse rotation conditions, it can automatically and continuously measure the input voltage, current, power, output torque, speed, output power, and efficiency of the motor under no-load, load (or multi-point), and locked rotor conditions. Our company has been developing for many years, using unique image and curve simulation functions, adopting the optimal interval setting average algorithm, and automatically determining OK/NG based on the upper and lower limits set by the computer. This feature not only has good data repeatability, but also provides a more intuitive way to detect abnormal test data during motor installation or testing.
10. Dynamometer loading method: In addition to the traditional manual excitation loading method, this system has multiple automatic loading methods: constant excitation incremental loading method, constant torque incremental loading method, constant speed incremental loading method, constant torque loading method, constant speed loading method, and constant slope loading method.
11. Curve drawing and fitting function: The system can meet the testing requirements of users for various motors and test projects, and draw various parameter characteristic original curves, fit curves, and automatically generate no-load point parameters (current, speed), maximum torque point parameters (voltage, current, speed, efficiency, output power), maximum efficiency point parameters (speed, torque, current, output power), and maximum output power point parameters (speed, torque, current, output power).
12. Automatic collection function of locked rotor torque (for non integrated dynamometer): Traditional locked rotor testing requires beam arm and tension meter, which are manually operated and calculated, making it very cumbersome; Adopting a stall tension collection device, automatically collected by a computer, to achieve the automation of stall test testing.
13. Report and query function: Multiple curves can be drawn in the same coordinate to meet customers' analysis of product consistency and repeatability.
14. The system has a complete self checking function, which is particularly suitable for customers to quickly diagnose and maintain on site.
(1) Self check of dynamometer: A torque and speed output signal size indicator is specially added to the dynamometer housing to determine whether the tension sensor and speed sensor inside the dynamometer are working properly.
(2) Self check of dynamometer controller VG2218C: On site, users can apply a standard torque signal to VG2218C by pressing a button to instantly determine whether the measurement function and accuracy of VG2218C are normal.
(3) Self check of each module unit (or instrument): By opening the software, users can automatically enter the self check function and perform self checks on each instrument and unit in sequence.
15. The system design adopts a development oriented approach to meet the self-learning needs of users at different levels, enabling users to quickly master the operation of the system. Users can automatically complete project testing by setting the parameters according to the software. System design changes the traditional approach of piecing together instruments, electrical components, structures, software, and other parts. To design the system as a whole, greatly improving the overall performance and equipment level of the system.
16. The system has strong anti-interference ability: it adopts a multi-level and rich electromagnetic compatibility design, which is particularly suitable for harsh on-site environments.
17. System accuracy consistency and repeatability: The repeatability of the dynamometer system accuracy is the most important indicator for measuring the accuracy of the entire system. Without repeatability, accuracy is meaningless.
18. Method A, Method B, Method E
In order to meet the efficiency testing of high-efficiency and ultra high efficiency motors, adapt to the national requirements for motor energy efficiency testing, and comply with GB-1032-2005 "Test Methods for Three phase Asynchronous Motors" IEC60034-2-1 "Test Methods for Rated Efficiency and Loss of Rotating Electrical Machines (excluding Traction Motors)" and IEEE112B methods.
19. Out of step point testing and maximum torque point capture function: Many motors require automatic testing of out of step point parameters or maximum torque point testing at different speeds, and automatic generation of characteristic curves of out of step torque or maximum torque versus speed (frequency).

The VG2218C dynamometer controller is used in conjunction with various types of dynamometers, torque and speed sensors, tension and compression sensors, etc. The instrument adopts a new core with high-speed, assembly line, and advanced simplified instruction set structure, with a running speed of 10MIPS, and is equipped with an integrated high-speed digital filter A/D for sampling.
