Giles Microbial Digital Imaging Analysis System Trinity V3

Company Profile
Giles Scientific was founded in New York, USA in 1984 and later relocated to St. Barbara. For over 20 years since its establishment, Giles has been committed to researching cutting-edge color digital imaging technology.

Product Introduction
Analysis of inhibition zone (determination of antibiotic potency)

  • The AutoAssay V3 inhibition zone analysis system is divided into two independent systems, AutoAssay SinglePlate and AutoAssay Multiplate. Their working principles are the same, but their testing methods are different. Users can choose which system to use for inhibition zone analysis based on their actual situation.
  • The AutoAssay V3 system can be applied to the pharmaceutical, food, meat, dairy industries, as well as quality control and safety testing laboratories. This system reduces the errors caused by manual copying and calculation, uses statistical methods to draw standard curves, and accurately determines the concentration of antibacterial substances. The test parameters are flexible and commonly used test formats can be automatically saved for easy reuse. Compared with manual methods, the reading time has been reduced by 97% and the calculation time has been reduced by 99%.
  • The installation and operation of the system can be completed in just a few minutes. For the determination of antibiotic concentration or antimicrobial potency test results, the software fully complies with CFR, US-FDA, USP, AOAC, and GLP standards. For electronic records, the software fully complies with CFR Part 11 and provides password protection for operation, permanent electronic recording of raw data, printed output, and test results.

AutoAssay SinglePlate
  • The SinglePlate system can quickly read the diameter of the antibacterial zone through an electronic caliper connected to a computer, with each measurement taking only 5 seconds.
  • Samples can be arranged on a petri dish in Latin Square (applicable only to SinglePlate systems), random, or customary form. The Latin Square form is commonly used in agar plate tests, which can accurately determine the concentration of growth inhibiting or growth promoting substances.
  • The SinglePlate system has great flexibility, allowing 2-10 standard samples, 1-8 replicated samples, and 1-100 unknown samples to be placed on a petri dish in Latin Square, random, numerical, or user preferred forms.
  • Accurate measurement results will be directly recorded in the software. The system will provide a standard curve chart and calculate the results through statistical analysis.
  • Applied in tests for antibiotics, enzymes, vitamins, and radiation immunoprecipitation.

The standard curve is plotted based on the average of known standard concentrations. Unknown concentrations can be calculated using regression equations based on standard curves. The correlation coefficient, slope, and intercept are all displayed in the standard curve graph. The experimental information and results can be saved, printed, and output.

AutoAssay MultiPlate
  • The Multiplate system can quickly and accurately measure the size of the antibacterial zone on a 90mm diameter agar plate, and calculate the concentration of antibiotics or antibacterial test results.
  • During the experiment, simply place the petri dish into the V3 sample chamber, and the V3 image analysis system will automatically read and record the measurement data of all inhibition zones on the entire petri dish.

The standard curve is plotted based on the average of known standard concentrations. The correlation coefficient, slope, and intercept are all displayed in the standard curve graph. All raw data and calculated values are displayed on the screen, and unknown concentrations are calculated using regression equations based on standard curves.

II Colony Count
  • By using digital imaging technology, the bacterial or yeast colony count on agar plates can be automatically calculated or virus spot analysis results can be provided.
  • It can distinguish the size and color of colonies, quickly calculate the number of colonies in the entire dish or selected area of the dish, and automatically provide the colony concentration (Cfu/ml). Suitable for pouring petri dishes, spiral inoculation petri dishes, filter membranes, chromogenic agar, blood petri dishes, and any other petri dishes.
  • Adjustable and optimized counting parameters, capable of reading the most complex colony images and performing rapid counting.
  • It can save 99% of reading time and eliminate human errors or transcription errors. It can also save, print, and output petri dish images and counting results, in compliance with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) standards. At the same time, the system fully complies with 21 CFR Part 11 (the world standard for electronic records) and US-FDA standards.
  • Display high-definition color petri dish images with counting tools and options. Numerous parameters can be set to achieve optimal counting results and improve accuracy. Reading speed of 6 boards per minute (360 boards per hour)
  • Can read petri dishes with a maximum diameter of 150mm. 、
  • Optional counting area, both inside and outside the selected area can be counted.
  • You can set a range of colony diameters and count the colonies within this diameter range.
  • For individual colonies, manual mode can be used for counting.
  • After counting the same batch of petri dishes, the average number of bacterial colonies in that batch can be calculated.
  • User defined print output.
  • By selecting various counting parameters such as color, each special type of petri dish can be counted and achieve the best counting effect.
  • By selecting the top or bottom (dark field or bright field) light source, the contrast of the image can be improved.
