GX3800e: FPGA/FMC PXIe High Performance Digital I/O Board
overviewGX3800e is a user configurable FPGA based 3U PXI Express card that supports the 400 pin VITA 57.1 FMC interface standard. The card adopts Altera Cyclone V GXFPGA, supports up to 3.125 Gb/s xcvr data rate, has over 300000 logic units and 12.2 Kb memory. Users can design their own customized interface modules or choose from various commercial off the shelf FMC modules, which can then be integrated with GX3800e to create customized instruments for analog or digital testing applications. The design of FPGA is accomplished through the use of Altera's Quartus or license free Quartus Prime Lite toolset. |

characteristic The 400 pin FMC interface of GX3800e has 80 differential pairs and 4 differential clocks, (10)3.125 Gbs xcvrs, Two XCVR clocks, one I2C control interface, JTAG bus, and power/GND connection. FPGA devices support up to 8 phase-locked loops for clock synthesis, clock generation, and I/O interface support. Other module resources include:
This module can access all PXI Express bus resources, including PXI 10 MHz clock, PXIe 100 MHz clock, PXIe Sync100, PXIe DStar flip-flop, local bus, and PXI flip-flop; Allow users to create custom instruments that contain all PXI Express bus resources. The GX3800e driver provides control and access to FPGA, including DMA and interrupt support, tools for downloading compiled FPGA code, and register read and write functionality. The unique architecture of GX3800e separates the PCIe interface from the user FPGA - the implementation of PCIe has been completed, and users only need to focus on the design of other FPGA functions. The software driver and interactive UI of the module have predefined registers that can be accessed by the user FPGA through internal addresses and data buses. Due to the fact that PCIe bus interfaces and related software drivers are known test entities, this effectively simplifies the design/integration process. Programming and softwareThis board is equipped with GXFPGA library and software package, which includes virtual instrument panel and Windows 32/64 bit DLL driver library and documentation. The virtual panel can be used for interactive programming and instrument control from a window displaying the current settings and status of the instrument. In addition, interface files are provided to support access to programming tools and languages, such as ATEasy ®, LabVIEW,LabVIEW / Real-Time,C / C ++,MicrosoftVisualBasic ®, Delphi and Pascal. The online help files and PDF user guides provide documentation on installation, usage, and board programming. Once the user compiles the FPGA design, the configuration file can be directly loaded into the FPGA or loaded through onboard flash memory. Individual software package-GtLinux-Provide support for the Linux 32/64 operating system. application
