Detection principle:

The phenolic compounds distilled out react with colorants in a certain environmental medium to produce colored dyes, which are then measured for absorbance by spectrophotometry. After processing and calculation by a microcomputer system, the volatile phenol content (measured in mg/L of phenol) is directly displayed.
