The robust design of the Neutronics zirconia sensor enables the analyzer to quickly measure oxygen through large step changes in concentration and accurately measure the ppm concentration of oxygen within seconds of exposure to air. When heated to high temperatures, the rapidly responsive zirconia sensor produces predictable electrical output based on changes in oxygen partial pressure. This sensor is a solid-state device that utilizes yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ), which is a ceramic based on zirconia. The crystal structure of zirconia is stabilized at room temperature by adding yttria.
