When determining oil according to the "GB/T16488-1996 Water Quality - Determination of Petroleum and Animal and Vegetable Oils - Infrared photometric method", it is necessary to extract the water sample. Connect extraction bottles A and B with a U-shaped tube. Due to the higher specific gravity of the extraction solvent than water, it will be relatively fixed in the position of the U-shaped tube under the action of gravity. When the vacuum pump extracts air from one end of extraction bottle A, the water sample will quickly pass through the extraction solvent from extraction bottle B and enter extraction bottle A. Conversely, when the vacuum pump extracts air from one end of extraction bottle B, the water sample will quickly pass through the extraction solvent from extraction bottle A and enter extraction bottle B. By controlling the total extraction time and switching the extraction time with a time relay, oil substances can be extracted from water.
