1. EDI technology
EDI (Electrodeionization) technology is a new type of pure water and ultrapure water production technology that gradually developed internationally in the 1990s. This technology ingeniously integrates electrodialysis technology and ion exchange technology. Through the selective permeation of anions and cations by anion and cation exchange membranes and the exchange of ions by ion exchange resins, directional migration of ions is achieved under the action of a direct current electric field, thus achieving deep desalination of water. At the same time, the hydrogen ions and hydroxide ions generated by the dissociation of water and electricity regenerate the ion exchange resin, thus continuously producing ultrapure water without the need for acid-base chemical regeneration.
